Help to Offer Hope to Others
February 15, 2023, was the day that H2O Ministries (Help to Offer Hope to Others) was birthed and has become a mission outreach ministry through Mt. Hope Baptist Temple. A small group of church members work diligently to provide a hot meal for those in need. The first free dinner was attended by 34 people from the community. Since that first dinner was offered over two years ago, we average 150 plus meals with 200 meals being served Thanksgiving of last year.
God has made it possible for us to serve hot meals as well as giving free clothes. Additionally, every family that comes receives a bag (sometimes 2) of groceries. We have been able to provide meat, canned goods as well as hygiene and laundry products to our neighborhood friends which come from several counties such as Raleigh, Summers, McDowell, Kanawha as well as our own Fayette County.
The first week of August we will be providing backpacks and supplies for students returning to school. Last year we provided 120+ backpacks for children ranging from pre-school to seniors in high school. This year our goal is to give out 150 backpacks.
