Women’s Ministry that Contagious
I would like to recognize today the Williamson First Baptist Church Women’s Ministry and highlight this beautiful group of women of the Logan-Mingo Association. Thursday, March 12th, Sandy Foster-Curry and I had the privilege of meeting up with the Leota Campbell circle and a few others at their church to see what’s happening in their women’s ministry. Nancy Ramey and Linda Van Meter are the Leota Campbell circle leaders and Michele Mullins is the leader of the Viola Randolph Mission Society Circle. They met us with great hospitality, warmth and affection. They also contribute their Pastor Jacob Belcher for being a great inspiration and encourager as they encourage others in this beautiful and unique women’s ministry.
It was wonderful to see some new faces as well as some familiar ones. Many of them have served together in their women’s ministry for many years. Hazel Donohoe, who is 103 years young and proud of it, states that one of the things that she loves the most in the Women’s ministry at Williamson is working side by side with other women who also love to serve the Lord in their church and community. Many of them have formed close relationships as friends. All of the women at Williamson displayed great love, excitement and passion for their Women’s Ministry. It is contagious.
These women are busy. It was exciting to see in their program booklet that they have invited Rhonda Reed, Lillian & Allison O’Dell Scholarship Girls to attend future meetings in 2026. These women love their missionaries. In addition to supporting the WV State projects, they also support and work hand-in-hand in supplying some of the needs in their community which include but not limited to:
Changing Lives Diaper Project – supply diapers to Coal Field Cap Organization which works with mothers from birth to age 3 on a monthly basis
Deliver lunches to the homeless once a month
Takes school supplies to local Christian school
World Vision – support a child
Support Jacob’s Well (feeds local people 5 days a week
Supports Christian Help which has a Transportation Ministry
